High-Wire Expert Nik Wallenda to Train at Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel

High-Wire Expert Nik Wallenda to Train at Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel

The world waits in anticipation for Nik Wallenda to accomplish a childhood dream this June: walk over the awe-inspiring Niagara Falls on a high-wire.  Although the “King of the High Wire” holds a Guinness World Record and comes from a seven-generation circus dynasty, he needs to prepare.  That preparation will take place May 12 to 22 at Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel – Wallenda’s home base in Niagara Falls and a major sponsor of the high-wire walk.

The public is invited to watch Wallenda train for free each day from 10:30 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 5 p.m. in front of the property near Third Street and Old Falls Street.  Two cranes – with the reinforcement of stanchions drilled 15 feet into the ground – will support a 1,200-foot long wire that will span the outdoor parking lot and be exactly like the one Wallenda will walk on June 15 – but this practice wire will be placed a reasonable height above the ground.

J. Fitzgerald Group Drives Lockport Recycling Program to Immediate Success

J. Fitzgerald Group Drives Lockport Recycling Program to Immediate Success

J. Fitzgerald Group, an international advertising and marketing agency based in Lockport, recently developed a complete kickoff marketing campaign for the City of Lockport’s Recycling & Refuse program.

JFG’s work included the new recycling program’s theme, name, logo, an easy-to-navigate consumer website, informational postcards directed to residents and business owners, a brochure and public relations support and guidance.

The materials JFG created helped city officials immediately secure public awareness of the new program and boost community participation, resulting in over $100,000 in waste collection savings and nearly $5,000 in new revenue from sales of recycled goods after just the first few months. The campaign also helped the City avoid a public backlash due to a drastic change in their refuse services.

Facebook "Timeline": It Does Not Work, No Opt Out

Facebook "Timeline": It Does Not Work, No Opt Out

Every single person, organization and business using Facebook Pages will be forced on March 30, 2012, WITHOUT CHOICE, to use a timeline that is not necessary, impedes communication, and affects privacy and malfunctions.

You can see a preview of timeline here: https://www.facebook.com/about/timeline

The Facebook timeline has been put in place for business, organization and community pages. The timeline hampers communication, is technically faulty, graphically heavy, and is not user friendly. Regardless of how the technology functions, users do not have a choice. This is against net neutrality, an Internet principle that Facebook supports.
